4Hex (temporary title) is a tabletop strategy/4X game designed by Fuego Fish. Players take on the roles of rival factions in a unique world they build together.

Map
During the setup phase of the game, after players have picked their factions, the map is created. Starting with a blank map (see right), each player in turn picks out a region tile and assigns it to an empty hex. Certain tiles can only be placed once, others repeatedly. Each tile bestows the hex with resources and other features that the factions can use to their advantage, should they control that hex in the future. It is important that each player consider their faction choice, and those of their rivals, when picking out tiles.
Jodie is the next player to pick a tile. She looks through the information sheets for the remaining tiles, and consults her faction sheet. One of her faction's desired resources is Timber, and so she picks out Wylderwood and places it next to another claimed hex that also provides Timber. The turn passes to the next player, Thomas, who decides to place an unfriendly tile adjacent to the Wylderwood hex in order to make that area of the map a little more difficult for Jodie to exploit. |
